Now that the sun has gone down, I am very excited to announce that the OOHS 2009-2010 fall play is…
Count Dracula
by Ted Tiller
Count Dracula is a very entertaining play. I first saw it twenty-one years ago this fall, and it has stuck with me as an unforgettable show. It is the kind of play that reminds the performers and the audience how fun theatre is and how magical a live performance can be. There are many interesting characters in this show and the technical effects add a magical quality to the production.
I chose this play this year for many reasons. However, the most important reason is that I know Olentangy Orange’s Theatre students, those on and off stage, are up to the challenge of this show and will deliver amazing performances — and believe me, it will be a challenge! This adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel employs the mystery of the original Dracula along with strong comic moments and amazing technical effects.
I know that you are very inquisitive students and you will have many questions, but I promise to post more information soon on the bulletin board outside of the theatre room. Details regarding information on auditions for cast and crew will be forthcoming. Just one more thing…..don’t forget to cover your neck before you go to sleep!

Count Dracula
Mystery Comedy
written by Ted Tiller, based on Bram Stoker’s novel
7 males, 2 females
This is a witty version of the story of a suave vampire whose passion is sinking teeth into the throats of young women. There are many surprising but uncomplicated stage effects including mysterious disappearances, secret panels, howling wolves and bats that fly over the audience. Magically, Dracula vanishes in full view of the spectators.
“Abounds with funny lines. There is nothing in it but entertainment.” Springfield News, Mass.
